Departmental Fellowship

The Department of Physics, Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI), offers Graduate Fellowships to attract the best possible students to join our corps. The program recognizes and supports outstanding graduate students pursuing research-based doctoral degrees who have demonstrated their potential for significant research achievements in physics.

These students are expected to inject a healthy dose of energy, independence and excellence into our graduate program. For Fall 2016, fellows are sought in theoretical areas where our department has a strong presence. Students accepted into the fellowship receive a competitive stipend (currently fixed at $25K/year), tuition remission and waiver of all fees for the duration of their PhD. Graduate Fellows receive extensive mentorship and ample opportunities to develop a very competitive career portfolio.

The application process to the program is the same as for all applicants.

  • Students interested in applying for a Graduate Fellowship need to email Prof. Ricardo S. Decca, the Director of the Graduate Program
  • To be considered for the Graduate Fellowship, all application materials need to be received by February 1
  • Members of underrepresented minority groups are especially encouraged to apply.
